Tangelo citrus fruit developed in several forms,
usually yellow and the size of an orange. Cross between grapefruit,
mandarin, tangerine and satsuma. Tangelos are especially good for
eating out of hand and are excellent in fruit salads. Some tangelos have a
characteristic tang and are juicy and flavorful enough to used along with
other fruit juices and still maintain its characteristic flavor.
Season On the market October through
January, with the peak season in November and December. Florida is
the sole producer of tangelos.
