Limes A tropical fruit. Select limes of good green color that are
heavy for their size. Use as lemons. (The Key or
Mexican lime is quite small and yellow when ripe). Fresh juice is
used in beverages such as limeade. The juice is also popular in
sherbets, ices, and pies.
