Kumquats Of Oriental origin. Kumquats are a very small member of the
citrus-fruit family, and resemble a sma1l orange. Kumquats are available
fresh, preserved and candied. They are served with ham, meat sauces, and
whole in Chinese mixed fruits. Kumquats have largish seeds and a very
distinctive bittersweet flavor; the entire fruit, rind and pulp, is eaten.
Calomondins are a cross between a kumquat and a tangerine.
