Rock Hind (Epinephelus adscensionis)

Similar to other hinds in appearance this hind has orange-brown spots and a black blotch resembling a saddle on its back just in front of its tail.

It is a larger Hind reaching weights of ten pounds and is caught from southern Florida to the Bahamas into the West Indies and the Mediterranean and South Africa.

Very good quality sweet white flavorful flesh almost as good as the Red Hind.
