Red Hind (Epinephelus guttatus) Strawberry Grouper

This somewhat rare grouper often called out on menus as the Strawberry Grouper has the purest white sweet meat and is prized whenever available.  Easily identified with its light background, greenish-yellow along its back and vermilion spots this fish averages a little over a pound and a half but sometimes are available to 4 pounds.

This grouper is sometimes found From North Carolina through Florida to the West Indies but is most plentiful in the Bahamas.
