The seed used for corn spouts is from sweet corn not feed corn.  A popular variety known as Deaf Smith County is often used but any sweet corn will do.  

Corn sprouts can be added to soups, casseroles, steamed and served with butter or oven dried and ground to replace corn meal in recipes.  

Sprouting time is 3 to 8 days depending on the variety used and an optimum length of 1/2 to 1 inch.
