Known elsewhere in the world as garbanzo this plant is drought tolerant
and grows well in the subtropics as well as the drier areas of the United
States and Europe. Although not as high in protein as the soybean it
can often be substituted for the soybean in recipes.
Sprouting time is generally about 5 to 8 days and
reaching a length of 3/4 to 1 inch.
