This is a highly commercial and valuable fish, which used to be common in trawl catches through the Indo-West Pacific: East Africa to the Fiji Is., north to the Ryukyu Island, south to Australia.  Carnivore of coastal areas around reefs and estuaries. Grows to about 28 inches in length . Popular eating fish.
