U.S.1
and U.S.2 bunched beets, beets with short-trimmed tops, and topped beets.

Beets called bunched mean beets tied in bunches with full length tops of tops removed to 6 inches in length.

Short Trimmed beets are those that have tops trimmed to not more than 4 inches in length.

Standard bunches shall be uniform in size and weigh not less than 1 lb. and contain at least 2 beets

U.S. 1 consists of beets of similar varietal characteristics, the roots are well trimmed, firm, fairly smooth, fairly well shaped, clean,  and free from soft rot and damaged caused by cuts.

Bunched beets or short trimmed beets shall have tops that are fresh and free from decay and free of discoloration, insects, or mechanical damage.  Unless otherwise specified each beet should not be less than 1.5 inches in diameter.
