Horseradish
Cochlearia armoracia
It use is documented in the ancient history of
the Asians, Romans, and Greeks. It is a slender, brown-skinned, root
vegetable. A distant relation of mustard, horseradish grows wild in many
parts of the world, including the eastern U.S. very strong and pungent
vegetable, used for sauces and condiments.
