Carrots are often harvested before full maturity.  Such carrots are smaller, more tender, milder in flavor, and brighter in external color than carrots which are harvested for storage.

Good Quality carrots are firm, fresh, smooth, well shaped, and well colored.

Wilted , soft, or shriveled carrots are undesirable

Decay appears as soft or water soaked areas and sometimes mold will appear

Carrots of inconsistent  form, forked or cracked will have a lower yield ratio.
