White Truffle - Truffle Blanche
The white truffle ranges in size from 1 to
4 inches wide, usually the size if a duck egg, but does grow much larger.
Smooth yellowish color leather like skin, its flesh goes from white to
fawn has an irregular shape, the texture is firm, like eating parmesan
cheese and is almost always eaten raw. The flavor is very strong, of a
garlic-shallot taste that is creamy and velvety to the palate. They share
the same earthy aroma of the black winter truffle but are a little more
musky and garlicky.
White truffles are grown in Italy, in Piedmont, and
in central Europe, they are on the from July to September.
