A plant from the Mediterranean is eaten in salads and used as an herb.
Very popular in Italy, it grows wild in cooler climates.
It has a pungent, peppery flavor with a hit of
coriander. Some chefs like the younger, smaller leaves because of their
mild taste. Others prefer more mature leaves which are slightly stronger
