Marblehead Available September through March. Harvested at 11 to 16 inches long and 9 to 10 inches in diameter at the widest point. The shape is nearly globular to short oval, abruptly tapering toward each end, the surface is wavy and bumpy, with bluish gray to creamy gray or pinkish buff skin. The rind is very hard and thick, that surrounds flesh of light orange or yellow color, medium thick, very fine, slightly tough, moderately dry and of fair flavor with a large seed cavity. |
