acid
type
lemons
are
grown
commercially
in
the
United
States
with
the
sweet
lemon
grown
mostly
as
a
novelty.
In
California
and
Arizona
the
main
varieties
are
Eureka
and
Lisbon with the Genova coming from Chile.
The
Eureka
is
the
dominant
variety
and
tends
to
mature
its
fruit
in
the
summer
when
there
is
the
highest
demand
In
Florida,
the
varieties
may
be
categorized
as
Sicilian
types,
considered
to
be
in
the
Lisbon
group
with
the Bearss variety being the most widely grown.
