IODIZED SALT: This is plain salt which contains Iodine. Iodine was added to salt in America's Midwest to help eliminate the disease Goiter (a thyroid condition). It was found that Iodine bonds well with the sodium molecules  and could be easily administered to the general public in minute amounts. Unfortunately, Iodine clouds clear water and has a slight aftertaste. You will taste the salt toward the front and sides of the tongue.
