Roast for 1/3 of the remaining time
Place oven roasted vegetables in the pan for the last hour

While preparing the turkey for roasting preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Remove the thawed turkey from the packaging and rinse thoroughly inside and out. Season the cavity with a mixture of salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning. Place a mixture of fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, rosemary, sage, etc.) in the cavity followed by fresh cut fruit (apples, peaches, plums, etc.).

Place the turkey breast side up in a roasting pan and place in the oven.

As the turkey begins to brown turn the turkey over to allow the moisture in the legs and thighs to baste the breast. Place a piece of bakers paper in the bottom of the pan between the breast skin and the pan to keep the skin from sticking.

Allow the back side of the turkey to brown the turn the turkey back to the breast side up position.

When turning the turkey remove the paper from the bottom of the pan and when the turkey is setting in the pan breast side up on the breast to protect the breast from drying out.

With 1 hour left remove the paper and baste the turkey every 10 minutes using the juices in the bottom of the pan.

Remove the turkey and allow to set for 15-20 minutes before the carving.
