Golden Caviar is the rarest of all caviar which come from an
almost extinct
species of fish called Sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus). Today's catch is less than forty
four pounds world wide. In the Imperial days of Russia all golden
caviar harvested in the czar's territories went to the Czar.
During Stalin's time two-fifths of all the golden caviar fished went to
him, the shah of Persia received two fifths and the final fifth went to
the Russo-Persian fisheries company. Today this caviar is nearly
if not extinct in the market.
