variety
constitutes
about
half
of
the
American
crop
in
most
years.
It
is
the
main
variety
of
both
California
and
Florida
and
considered
to
be
most
important
orange
variety
in
the
world.
It
is
round
to
slightly
oval,
medium
to
large
with
a
thin
rind
of
deep
golden
orange
that
is
smooth
to
slightly
pebbled.
There
are
9
or
more
sections,
the
flesh
of
the
orange
is
of
medium
grain,
the
juice
sacks
are
spindle
shaped,
of
medium
size
and
with
abundant
juice
with
acidity
and
sweetness
well
combined,
plump
melting,
rich
flavor,
excellent
quality,
few
seeds
(about
6)
that
are
large
oval
and
plump.

season
runs
from
March
10
to
November
15
and
is
most
active
April
15
to
October
15.
Marketing
is
most
active
April
20
to
October
20
and
ends
about
December
15.
In
Florida
the
harvest
begins
around
February
1st
and
ends
in
July.
In
Arizona
the
harvest
is
from
February
through
May,
and
in
Texas
from
January
15
through
May
15.
