Imperial
    Large and medium green.  One of the largest varieties of Lettuce grown and is described as a cabbaging Lettuce.  The leaves are thin, not distinctly toothed or lobed and crumpled.  They form symmetrical, partly exposed heads, with many wrapper leaves.  The quality is good to excellent.

There are varieties that do not fit into either Imperial or Great Lakes types.  These include Vanguard and Valverde.
