pounds,
is

inches
in
diameter,
and
is,
therefore,
called
an
icebox
melon.
The
rind
is
thin,
hard,
and
tough
and
is
either
dark
green
with
indistinct
dark
veining
or
medium
green
with
indistinct
darker
veining.
There
are
few
seeds,
they
are
small,
dark
tan
with
black.
There are seedless varieties weighing 8 to 10 ponds, thin rind, fairly
tough and striped. The flesh is deep red, sweet, crisp, and of
excellent texture
