Black Diamond (Cannonball or Florida Giant) an older variety in the southeastern states and Texas.  The fruit is large commonly weighing 35 to 40 pound and some up to 50 pounds and is nearly round.  This variety is considered to have inferior texture color and flavor when compared to more modern varieties.   The flesh is coarse-grained, sweet, and crisp, with brownish-black seeds
