Klondike a popular variety in California, it is a medium large, oblong, thick, 16 to 18 inches long and 8 to 10 inches in diameter weighing about 27 pounds.  The rind is light green with irregular dark green stripes and medium thin and tough. The flesh is scarlet, very sweet, with excellent flavor. The seeds are small, black striped, and splotched with brown.
