Honeydew is larger and has more of an oval shape than a
cantaloupe and has a smooth skin that turns from stark white to creamy
yellow as it ripens. The rind begins to give to pressure and has a velvety
feel with a light stickiness. Most honeydews have a pale lime green flesh
but some have an orange flesh and are a cross between a cantaloupe and
honeydew.
Good quality honeydew weigh about 5 pounds.
