Special Event and Catering Menu: These are a separate category of menus. A special event menu could replace
your restaurant's
regular menu or be presented as additional choices for a special day.
Examples of the would be
perhaps New Year's Eve or Valentine's Day. Or you might design a special
menu for a wedding
rehearsal dinner or engagement party. These would be designed much as a
prix fixe menu.
If you are in catering the menus are prepared in a different way. Often a
catering company will
have a number of pre-written prix fixe style menus to sell to prospective
customers. Often a
caterer will have a combination of prix fixe style menus and additional
items or possible
substitutions. These menus must be priced out prior to sale to guarantee
profit and for the
customer to have an idea about the cost of the planned event.
