The largest of all trout is considered to be a fatty fish with a very delicate flavor and have red pink or white flesh. The lake trout can reach a weight of 100 pounds but the average catch is 10 to 20 pounds.

Season  most plentiful May to October.

The best size is 4 to 8 lbs. with the 2 to 4 lb size usually brining the top prices.  80 to 100 lb sizes have been caught but the largest these days is closer to 60 lbs.
