Known as America's Bread Basket, it includes the plains region where most of our wheat, corn. grains. cattle and hogs are raised. This is America's farm land, the land of the county fairs and traditional values. Here, is where comfort food was born. Many of these dishes we would consider home style and truly American dishes.
