Lucretia
(Bingleberry)
The
oldest
and
most
widely
grown
trailing
blackberry
variety
with
its
origin
in
West
Virginia.
This
variety
came
to
general
notice
after
the
Civil
War
in
1886.
The
berries
are
large,
long
and
firm,
picked
for
shipping
as
soon
as
they
are
black,
but
not
very
sweet
unless
left
on
the
plant
a
day
or
2
longer.
the
season
is
about
June
1
in
North
Carolina
section.
Also
grown
in
the
North
eastern
states.
