Water must achieve 195°F
to 205° F to properly extract the
flavor from the ground beans. If the water is too cold the flavor
will not be transferred and you will have a weak cup of coffee too hot and
it will burn. Most home use coffee makers to not have the wattage
(1250 or more watts) to accomplish the task.
