The farm raised Abalone market is a thriving market.  Approximately two tons of abalone can be harvested a week at an Abalone Farm, and  shipped world wide.

The challenge in abalone farming is not to over harvest due to the pressure of demand, if you over harvest, you are ultimately bring the average size down. Smaller sizes down bring in less money. It takes a good 6 – 8 months of a low harvest to recover.
