Five species of shrimp re harvested on the U.S. Pacific coast for commercial use. The most common is the Side-striped shrimp (Pandalopsus dispar) which can grow to a length of ten inches, two species of pink shrimp (Pandalopsus borealis) and (Pandalopsus jordoni) which are harvested as far north as the Aleutians. Coon-stripe shrimp (Pandalopsus danae) and the Spot shrimp are
slightly smaller than the Side-striped shrimp which is also a west coast
