Blue Corn Bread
  Yield: 1-8" Round or Square Pan 
Amount Measure Ingredients 
Cup  Blue Corn Meal
Cup  All-Purpose Flour
1/3  Cup  Sugar
1   Tablespoon  Baking Powder
Teaspoon  Salt
Tablespoons  Chamisa, (Culinary Ash), crushed lime or baking Soda 
1/3  Cup  Oil 
ea Egg
Cup  Whole Milk
 
Preparation
Mix chamisa with blue corn meal and enough hot water to make a thick slurry, let sit for 15 minutes. Add wet blue con meal to other ingredients. Combine dry ingredients in bowl and mix well. Combine oil, egg, and milk together, mix well. Stir into dry ingredients until just blended. Pour into well buttered 8 inch square pan. Bake in hot oven ( 400°F) for 25 minutes, or until done (test with knife )
