Gloucestershire Old Spots have more fat than standard breeds, but not as much as the Berkshire, the
texture and flavor of this breed is strong and delicious. Gloucestershire Old
Spots originated in the Berkeley Valley region of England and have now spread
throughout the United Kingdom. A Gloucestershire Old Spots breed society was
formed in 1913. While the Gloucestershire Old Spot once existed in great numbers
in the United States, today there remain fewer than 200 registrations in the
United States.
