The Roman Tufted is a smaller white goose weighing between 10 and 12 pounds and was probably developed in the Danube River Valley. It was not known in the area of Rome before 600 BC. The Roman is a white goose with blue eyes, reddish-orange feet, and pinkish beak with a white bean. They are a compact meat goose but are smaller than the geese we typically use in North America for meat production.
